We love our Community!

Community is truly the reason we built The Harbor General Store. We envisioned a place where visitors and locals could shop, enjoy lunch, and mingle while catching up on the latest town gossip.  Making contributions to our local community non-profits and fundraisers helps to not only get the word out about our store, it gives us a sense of pride that we are giving back to the town where we were both raised, and the town where we are raising our children.

We receive (almost!) daily requests for charitable contributions, including donations of gift baskets and gift cards for auctions and other charitable events.   As you, our customers, know, we are a very small and very new family-run business.  As much as we'd like to, we simply cannot accommodate every request we get for donations.  We are committed to playing a role in supporting our community and we do donate, not only to charities we have relationships with, and we would like to learn about and support new local charities as we grow our business.

So that we can fairly evaluate the many requests we get for donations, we ask that you fill out the form below and submit it to us via our website.

 

Guidelines:

Purpose and Beneficiaries: The purpose of the donation request must be charitable in nature – benefiting an organization that is officially created for social welfare, educational growth or other good works.  The organization should have a non-profit legal status.

Size of Donation: We are a very small business, and we must ensure that our business is viable.  We do not fulfill requests for large donations, because we simply cannot support the volume.  As a guideline, we might donate a gift basket or a gift card to an auction. Cases of product and multiple basket donations cannot be fulfilled.

 

Lead Time: Please submit your request at least 1 month ahead of time.  We are a small business, and need lead time to evaluate requests and coordinate donations and attendance at events if needed.

We kindly ask that you refrain from calling and coming in to inquire about the status of your request.  If we feel we are able to accommodate your donation request we will happily notify you as set forth in the request form.
